What is life coaching?
Life coaching draws from a number of disciplines, including sociology, psychology and counselling. Coaching is about getting the very best out of someone and enabling them to establish personal and career objectives that will improve their life. A coach acts as a friend who really motivates and supports you. So why not just talk to a friend I hear you ask! Unlike a friend, a coach has an emotional distance so can ask direct questions, speak more honestly and challenge you to expand your beliefs about what options are open to you and what you can achieve. The coach will also keep you on track and focussed on what needs to be done to get the results you want.
A coach uses specific questioning techniques to unravel the client's issues and help provide clarity and understanding of a situation. The client identifies thought patterns and behaviours that are detrimental to progress and learns to develop new behaviours and ways of approaching a situation. The coach will not lecture you on what to do but will encourage you to find your own answers so you feel more inspired to take action and will soon start to see results.

What life coaching is not
Coaching is not therapy or counselling which tend to focus on feelings and experiences related to past events. Coaching is oriented towards goal setting and encouraging the client to move forwards. It is also distinct from consulting; consultants provide advice whereas a coach helps the client discover his or her own solutions.

Where does the coaching session take place?
The sessions are conducted either face to face (in London) at a place of your choosing or over the phone.

How long is a session and how many will I need?
A session lasts approx. 1 hour. The length of the coaching programme varies according to the client's requirements.

How much does it cost?
I offer a free trial session so you can find out if coaching is for you. Prices vary by country.
